Movies have come a long way since the mute, black and white ones, played in theaters. Nowadays, due to DVDs and Blu-ray disks, we can watch any film, in full HD, from the comfort of our homes. Because they are not expensive, our collections tend to get larger and larger and keeping track of each individual movie is becoming difficult. Thanks to Movie Label 2012, organizing a collection will be a lot easier, no matter how large it may be. It enables you to create a database where any movie may be added, along with its cover art and all sorts of details.

The software is not free, but you can try a 14-day trial version. Just download the 15.5 Mb setup kit and run it. The installation wizard is straightforward and it will not slow you down with additional tools or settings.

The user interface has a familiar design, so you will not have any trouble finding the program's features. The movies themselves are listed in the central part of the window and you can switch between different view modes like thumbnails, details or a simple list. Additional information like directors, producers, casts, plot and more are displayed on a column, on the right side of the window, after selecting an entry from the main list.

To add a new movie to your collection, you must click the Add button on the toolbar. A window will show up where you can type the movie's details. The program allows you to add any kind of information, ranging from title to box art or IMDB rating. Inserting these details is done by typing them in dialog boxes or selecting them from drop menus and you can find them under different navigation tabs. If the movie you are adding is on your hard drive, you can specify its path on the same window. This way you can launch it from the main interface, instead of browsing for it through your folders.

The column on the left side of the interface contains a series of buttons which let you access and manage other databases for persons (actors, directors, etc), wanted items or loaned items. Clicking one of these buttons will display a different list on the main area of the window and you can add a new person, a wanted or a loaned item the same way as adding a new movie to the collection. The only difference is that a different window will show up when clicking the Add button. For example, if you want to add a loaned item, you can specify the name of the person that borrowed it, his phone number, email and other information.

Movie Label will also display statistics regarding the number of movies with the same producer, studio, release year and many more. To access these statistics, you need to click one of the buttons on the lower left corner of the window. They can be viewed on a simple list or as a diagram by making use of two navigation tabs, and displaying a certain type of statistics can be done by clicking its designated radio button on the left side of the window. If you take your time to look around the interface, you will find other features such as printing certain types of reports, backing up your database and more. They are easy to spot and making use of them is not difficult at all.

Pros

Movie Label 2012 lets you create a movie database fast and easily. There is a very broad range of information to be associated with a movie and the interface's familiar design and ease of use makes the software accessible even to an inexperienced user.

Cons

The only drawback to this program is that it runs a bit slow on lower end computers. The features Movie Label 2012 has to offer let you insert any details, related not only to the movie, but to your DVD as well. Its user friendly interface permits any experience level user to manage his collection fast and easily.
